Bible study group

Some psalms are like ballads: full of story(s), dramatic, unforgettable. Others are protocols of the soul: delicate, raw, intimate. Still others are works of art with colourful or musical note. But they are all genuine testimonies of humanity and humanity before God. Their inspirational power, the breath of their vitality and the guaranteed experience that God remains their tireless listener and the first who responds to them, make them touching, exciting and direct. Anyone who would like to immerse themselves in this living world is welcome at any time - without without any previous knowledge!

Café Jona / Seniors' Circle

Café Jona takes place every Wednesday from 3.00 to 5.00 pm in the Jonakirche, Niederrheinstr. 128. It starts with coffee/tea and cake and news from the community. Each afternoon has a specific theme, which is listed under the corresponding date.

Breakfast and lunch in the community centre Fliednerstraße

As we all know, a meal in good company tastes better! And if you can then have nice conversations and exchange ideas with each other, you'll take some nice memories home with you. This can be at breakfast together in the morning or sitting together and eating at the lunch table! The joint breakfast in the Fliednerstraße community centre usually takes place - NEW - on the fourth Thursday of the month from 9.30 am. (This change is not yet included in the current parish newsletter 3/2024!) To ensure that there are enough bread rolls on the breakfast table, we ask you to register by telephone one week in advance at the parish office, tel. 40 12 54.
You can usually have lunch together on the first Thursday of every month from 12.00 noon, also in the Fliednerstraße community centre. There are no fixed ‘prices’, we ask for a small donation! For planning purposes, we also ask you to call the parish office a few days in advance, tel. 40 12 54.

If you are using public transport, take the U79 underground line or buses 728, 749 or 760 to the Klemensplatz stop. From there it is a 450m walk to the community centre.  

Prayer circles

Those who pray take part. Carry the burden of humanity. Stand on the wall of the watchmen who look like messengers of peace. Remain at God's side and seek with him how the good, how the counsel of salvation can be realised in our time. Praying people are therefore active and responsible in a unique way as world and contemporaries.
That is why we ask you to get involved in the many concerns that our present time asks of us! Become contemporary! Join in and pray with us!

Prayer circle in the Stadtkirche Kaiserswerth: usually on the last Friday of the month at 5.30 pm, always for three quarters of an hour! Contact: Pastor Jonas Marquardt, Tel. 40 02 14. 
Prayer circle in the Tersteegenkirche: usually every Thursday at 12.30, contact: Pastor Jürgen Hoffmann, Tel. 43 11 30. 

The prayer of the heart, a centuries-old Christian form of meditation, has found a home in the Mutterhauskirche. This devotion of the Kaiserswerth Sisterhood, always on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at 6.00 pm, is open to everyone who would like to experience silence together. If possible, you should arrive between 5.30 and 5.55 pm. There is tea at the back of the church and those who are there for the first time are given information as required. Shortly before 6 pm, we sit quietly in the circle of chairs in front of the altar. The ringing of the bells is followed by a short biblical impulse. After 20 minutes, the silence ends with a handshake and the Lord's Prayer. Some people then go home quietly, others seek to talk and exchange ideas with each other. Come and go - open afternoon

This circle of sharing, storytelling and listening over coffee and tea is aimed at anyone who wants to offer and enjoy stimulation and company. All interested parties - regardless of age - are cordially invited - every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 3.00 pm in the parish centre at Fliednerstr. 6!
